Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Salary: £30000 - £40000
Location: On-site (Redruth, Cornwall)/Remote/Hybrid
Close date: 14/01/2022
Do you have a combination of testing and coding experience?
Do you want to extend your knowledge and develop your skills?
We’re looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our growing team in developing solutions within the Customer Experience Platform (CXP), to solve specific business problems/need.
We are working in partnership with Cornwall Council to enhance and improve the way that they are able to respond to and deal with customer enquiries and problems. We are currently implementing a new Customer Experience Platform (CXP) which is underpinned by Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). A lot of discovery work has been done so far and we are now starting to develop the platform using an agile delivery framework model, taking early opportunities to deliver value in tandem to developing and evolving the platform. Your involvement in this team will generate a more efficient process and improve the experience for our client’s customers (the residents of Cornwall) as well as employees.
As a part of this project, we are introducing a new resident portal, as well as a new back-office case management solution for the council.
We need someone who has the right attitude, will hit the ground running and be self-driven to pick things up. Also important is someone who can quickly build relationships with the team, particularly in the current totally remote environment.
Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is not essential, we have a number of experienced developers who have joined the team with valuable knowledge and experience in other areas, whilst picking up the Dynamics elements on the job. We have a great blend of experienced Dynamics professionals, working with and alongside more ‘traditional’ software developers from different backgrounds, this multi-skilled team approach offers lots of opportunity to develop and learn from each other as we avoid creating silos of knowledge.
Why work for Headforwards?
We are a software development company with just under 100 people from 13 different countries and we like to have fun at work. We are agile with a very laid-back feel, a relatively flat structure and small self-organising teams of 2-7 people. There’s no pressure to work extra hours to churn out more and more code. At Headforwards, our culture and environment is dedicated to making people happy at work. We have lots of social activities and monthly learning sessions, talks and cross company communities of practice for various languages, tools and frameworks.
This is a place where you can make a difference, work in a small team start-up feel but benefit from the support of a larger community of developers and like-minded people. We work in teams dedicated to various clients and we work on global projects with cutting edge technologies, tools and techniques. We live in beautiful Cornwall, our offices are 5 miles from the beach but we also have a large collection of remote workers too!
To summarise you will:
- Develop applications alongside the development team
- Understand customer requirements and help design high-level test scenarios
- Write unit tests and review other developer’s unit testing results
- Help the team build an automation framework for integration testing
- Help introduce a UI automation testing framework for application testing
- Do performance testing of the code and optimization of the code
- Be involved in application security testing and enhancements
- Be involved in release management
- Co-ordinate with existing development and testing teams when reviewing customer requirements
Due to our timescales you must be eligible to work in the UK.
We recruit on a rolling basis and fill our vacancies as soon as we find people who fit our culture and meet the skills requirements. This means that whilst we have a closing date on all of our roles, we may offer the role to someone before the end date, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.
No recruitment agencies please.
